Catechism classes are never as much fun as the class seen in the hit comedy “Late Nite Catechism.” This one-woman theatrical show is presented in the format of a real catechism class that would teach essential Catholic Church doctrine to adults.
As much standup comedy as interactive theater, “Late Nite Catechism” offers a nostalgic look at a Catholic Church that no longer exists in America today. The show is set in the early 1990s, the period in which it was written, and that may be nostalgic already.
Sister, though, looks back fondly on the church of 30 years before that to recount services conducted in Latin and strict head coverings that women were required to wear in church during that period.
