Whitney Cerak has recently married in the same church where hundreds once mourned at her funeral.
After suffering significant injuries and facial swelling in a car crash, the then 19-year-old was mistaken for another girl of similar appearance – Laura VanRyn.
Ms VanRyn’s family held a 24-hour vigil beside her bed for five weeks before realising the girl in the hospital bed was not their daughter, but was in fact Ms Cerak.
By that stage Ms Cerak’s family had already held a funeral at a church in Gaylord, Indiana.
Six years later, Whitney married her long-time boyfriend Matt Wheeler, in the same church.
