A coloured cross symbolising Canterbury earthquake frustration has had an Easter resurrection.
The cross was used to represent quake-affected residents at a Wider Earthquake Communities Action Network protest rally in Christchurch last November but disappeared from the Medway bridge on the Avon river after the February 22 quake anniversary commemorations in Avonside.
It was found by a Southshore beachgoer on Easter Sunday.
February 22 was Ash Wednesday, the first day of Lent, which meant the cross had been afloat for 40 days and 40 nights,
