It was the Holy Spirit wot done it

In an election petition hearing in Samoa challenging the recent election of Seuala Taua Kitiona a witness attributed his involvement to divine providence. “It was the Holy Spirit that came to me and led me to Seuala,” he told the court.
“Before the Holy Spirit came to you, did you know about the petition against Seuala?” asked the lawyer.
“No.”

His wife Palepa corroborated his testimony and admitted that she too was touched by the Holy Spirit.
“The Holy Spirit came to me and told me what to do,” she declared.
“Wasn’t it a committee member of Seuala’s camp that approached you to testify?” asked Leota.
“No, it was the Holy Spirit,” she insisted.
“You have sworn on the bible to tell everything you know about this case,” said Leota.
“Yes, but I am holding back some information, and I do not want to tell everything,” she admitted.

Seuala Taua Kitiona, elected Parliamentary representative for the constituency, has spent the last two weeks defending his election campaign against claims of bribery and treating as lodged by petitioner Fuataga Kasimani – unsuccessful candidate in the March 4th General Elections.
